Boiler Service & Repair

Need your heating system servicing or repaired?

At Heatsave Heating we use a team of highly experienced boiler servicing engineers. Our engineers are trained to service and maintain all types of boilers and are capable of carrying out remedial work if required. Additionally we have a dedicated parts team so if your boiler does require any replacement parts we can source them quickly and cost effectively.

Efficiency and Cost Savings

A recent survey revealed that as few as 55% of home owners have their heating equipment professionally serviced at least once a year. As with anything, to book and pay for boiler servicing while your system appears to be working can seem like an unnecessary expense. However, an annual boiler service is the safe and cost-efficient way to run your heating system, and can have a number of helpful effects:

  • Significant increase to the life of the boiler
  • Improves efficiency of system
  • Early diagnosis of potential problems
  • Reduces energy costs
  • Saves costly repairs
  • Detection of fatal carbon monoxide leaks

Those who neglect to regularly maintain their boiler and central heating equipment will experience reduced efficiency and increased costs. Regular maintenance can also extend component life by as much as 30%. This translates into an additional 5 – 10 years usage for your gas boiler.

Boiler Service & Repair.

Preventative Maintenance

Most heating engineers will tell you that about 75% of all repairs they do could have been avoided with regular maintenance. Heating system repairs typically run into hundreds of pounds, yet many people will only consider calling an engineer when the problem has developed. An annual boiler service and check-up from one of our HeatSave Heating trained engineers can mean we help you avoid an expensive repair job, as well as reducing your year-round energy costs.

Safety Matters, FACT!

Crucially, annual heating inspections can save your life and the lives of your loved ones. Small cracks in a heat exchanger or problems with the flue system could allow deadly carbon monoxide gas to seep into your home – accidental carbon monoxide poisoning causes a reported 50 deaths every year in the UK. A trained service technician knows how to spot danger signs in the system.

Repair or Replace?

Sometimes it’s worth repairing an existing boiler rather than incurring the additional expense of a new boiler installations. You can count on our highly trained engineers giving you an honest assessment, our engineer will then advise you on the best course of action for your situation. Remember, all our work and boilers that we carry out or install are all guaranteed giving you the peace of mind that you need.

Are you a landlord?

HeatSave Heating are always available to issue gas safety certificates at short notice. We regularly work on behalf of landlords and are happy to liaise with tenants and fit in around their plans. It is a legal requirement for landlords to have all the gas appliances in a rented property safety-tested every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Our local Gas Safe registered engineers are qualified to carry out gas safety inspections and issue certificates. If the appliance requires repairs or servicing, we will provide you with a quotation and the work can often be carried out during the same visit at a reduced cost. Upon completion of all necessary safety checks you will be issued with a certificate. This certificate will be proof that all appliances are safe to use. A copy will need to be given to your tenant within 28 days of being issued and you will also need to retain a copy for two years from this point.
Safety tests include:
Full system soundness test to confirm no gas leaks in property
Appliance check for gas soundness
Standing and working pressure check
Burner pressure/gas rate checked against manufacturer’s data plate/manual
Ventilation check
Flue flow test to ensure removal of products of combustion
Ensuring satisfactory operation of all flame failure devices
Checks for any installation defects that don’t comply with current regulations
Investigation into any evidence of unsafe operation and report to the responsible person
Failure to produce valid gas safety certificates can result in prosecution, and can also invalidate your property insurance, which in turn means you may be liable for potentially expensive civil claims. The landlord is responsible for this aspect of their tenants’ safety, and if non-compliance were to lead to a death from carbon monoxide poisoning, the landlord could be charged with manslaughter.

Which Boiler?

We are not tied to any one boiler or component manufacturer, which means we’ll listen to your requirements and suggest the heating parts and boilers to best suit your needs and your purse. Read our Boiler Service & Repair guide for London, Suffolk & Essex to help you decide what boiler is right for you.

A recent change in legislation requires that all new gas installations are logged with the local authorities. This is essential for when the time comes to sell the property or if you plan to rent it out. It is worth noting that not all engineers (even those that are Gas Safe registered) are qualified to make the required notification. As a value added service and potentially saving you a substantial sum of money, your Heatsave Heating engineer will always carry out this formality on your behalf.
